About Me
Hi, I'm Angela Highsmith! Mother, wife, herbalist, and model, among so much more. For over 20 years I've worked as a model while embodying a holistic & slow-paced life. I'm passionate about deep, balanced health and the experience of juggling different aspects of life - longevity with convenience, work/life balance, soul nourishment with mainstream, fun with responsibility. I’ve found that harmony flows through our presence within the challenge of balance.
Beautiful Sentience is a notion that encapsulates the lifestyle my family always comes back to - being aware enough to discern which direction balance and health are; using what we have available; striving to nourish myself & those around me; always learning, and finding beauty everywhere.
Throughout my life, I've been in an uninterrupted study of herbs & food as medicine beginning with daily foraging, kitchen experiments & devouring my mother’s medical books as a child, which later evolved into an herbal certificate program & mentorships with Peeka Trenkle, online intensives with Rosalee de la Forêt and David Crow, various trainings, courses, books and classes that never cease. I bring this deep experience to my joyful drive to make herbal remedies, healing foods, and lifestyle products. It’s my desire to empower you in using natural abundance to thrive as a whole person.
FAQ:
What do I need to bring to class?
In-Person Attendees - Join us as you are! While there is plenty or room & ventilation to social distance, please bring whatever you need to feel comfortable in an indoor spacious environment. This workshop will be a lecture and demonstration where I’ll show you how to make these remedies, also sharing how to use them & the healing properties of each plant or fungi. I will have a limited supply of the ingredients & finished remedies for sale to facilitate your creation when you get home. You’ll also have access to virtual wokrshop the next day so you can make the remedy alongside me on Sunday.
Virtual Attendees - Join us with a clear surface to work on, ideally in an enjoyable environment, and access to Zoom. Gather the items from the materials list you will receive before the workshop. Most ingredients can be found in a typical grocery store or at home, and you’ll also receive a link of where to buy the materials, as well as helpful substitutions.
What if I can’t make the live workshop?
Everyone will receive a materials list, recipes of the remedies, and a video recording of the class after registering.
Are these remedies safe?
These remedies are made with food ingredients, so individual allergies, sensitivities, aversions, and/or circumstances must be taken into account. If you wouldn’t consume any ingredient in the remedy as food, please use a substitution from the materials list or email me for advice.
What do I get for the fee?
Upon registration, everyone will have access to the live workshop & recording taught by myself, Angela, where I’ll guide you step by step in making 3 plant remedies that are useful for building health and healing dis-ease. You’ll receive a materials list and recipe document of all you need to create, complete, and store the remedies during the class.
In-person attendees will also receive admission to the in-person demonstration, same-day option to buy ingredients & packaged remedies; and a 25% discount to stay at Race Brook Lodge for the nights before & after the workshop.
Because I want these offerings to be truly accessible, the market value of these remedies is often more than the cost of this class, giving more than your money back once you make them! Then there’s the invaluable return of investing into your health and experience of healing with plants! I’m so looking forward to having you.
